ELECTRICAL HAZARD AWARENESS PROGRAM
Electricity is a serious and widespread hazard to the arborist. Electricity causes about 30 percent of the fatalities in the tree care industry, making it the leading cause of worker fatality. Furthermore, almost all arborists in the field have at least some exposure to this hazard. A street lamp circuit, a cable TV wire, even a phone line can be energized with enough voltage to kill. Indirect contact through a green tree branch or other conductive object is an ever-present threat. One doesn't have to touch a wire to be electrocuted, and about half of all electrocution fatalities are the result of indirect contact.

All arborists must be trained to recognize and avoid electrical hazards.

EHAP helps you meet yearly OSHA & MIOSHA safety requirements. For anyone who works near utility lines.

EHAP is an employer training program you can implement to meet your OSHA and MIOSHA safety requirements.  EHAP must be used in combination with documented on-the-job skills training and verification to meet OSHA 1910.269 requirements.

CEUS- This course is approved for 7.5 CTSP credits through TCIA and 7.5 hours through ISA.

AERIAL RESCUE
The most common reason for double fatalities in tree care is failed aerial rescue attempts – an emergency could develop any time one of your crews is aloft and your employees must know how to react. This program helps you protect your employees and meet the aerial rescue training requirements mandated by ANSI Z133.1 and OS.

Each attendee receives instruction in a workshop regarding performing an aerial rescue (in the tree and in the bucket), and the job site procedures to help prevent the need for an aerial rescue.

The TCIA Tree Care Academy Aerial Rescue Program is a national credential that educates attendees and manual purchasers on aerial rescue procedures.  This program also allows companies to keep track of training procedures their employees are educated in for MIOSHA and ANSI Standards. Training and practice are the best practices to keep our industry safe.

This Aerial Rescue Training is needed as one of the qualifications to taking the ISA Tree Worker/Climber Certification test.
