Day Of Service-Wayne County Parks (Hines Park Area)

BASIC EVENT INFO
Volunteer your time for the Wayne County Parks System by removing diseased and dead trees in the Hines Park park areas!

Hines Park is a 17 mile linear park with various recreation areas which include picnic amenities and ball fields.  The park has non motorized paths for walking or biking.  The park also runs along the Rouge River. Many of the dead trees are in picnic recreation areas that could potentially be unsafe ,or near the Lower, Middle and Upper Rouge River that results in significant log jams.

Two (2) work time options are available:

  • 12:30-4:30pm
  • Yes, you can work all day!

Basic work for the day will be tree removal of diseased/dead trees in several parks within the Hines Park area. Chippers, Bucket Trucks and Chipper Trucks are needed, as well as many volunteers.  Wayne County Parks will provide lunch and a place to dump the chips. Please bring your own equipment, if available.
