President's Message

I expect most businesses are seeing encouraging starts to what should be a busy season ahead.

Please let me take this opportunity to urge your to make this a safe season above all else. Our “tailgate” meetings, detailed job briefing and on site walk through sessions are a vital port of keeping an occupation that can be dangerous, much safer for our employees and others. Often we want to get the job underway without doing due diligence to these important details. Any level of injury can be very costly. There can be no excuses for not wearing P.P.E.  A friend of mine recently used the analogy that standing in a garage doesn’t make you a car.  Likewise, only “wanting to work without being injured” will not make you a safe worker. It takes training, and then living it religiously. Take the time to analyze each situation and then plan.

On the subject of planning, the Summer Conference is being carefully planned for the most beneficial time you could use to improve your level of professionalism. Potter Park and Zoo in Lansing is the location this year. Mark your calendar for  August 17 -18- 19- 20 dates. Don’t miss this one! Bring the family. More information to come!

Be safe out there,
